Roxie Munro is the acclaimed author/illustrator of more than 45 award-winning nonfiction and concept books for children including the recent Rodent Rascals (3 starred reviews!); Anteaters, Bats & Boas; Dive In; Lizards at Large; A Day in the Life of the Desert; EcoMazes: 12 Earth Adventures; Slithery Snakes; Hatch!; Dinosaurs; Mazescapes; Market Maze; Ranch; Rodeo; Go!Go!Go!; Masterpiece Mix; and the Inside-Outside book series: Libraries; Texas; Paris; London; Washington DC; New York City [New York Times Best Illustrated Award]. Her books have been translated into French, Italian, Dutch, Chinese, and Japanese. She’s had fourteen New Yorker magazine covers published, and her work is in numerous private, public, and corporate collections, including the following specializing in children's books: De Drummond Collection, University of Southern Mississippi; Kerlan Collection, University of Minnesota; Zimmerli Museum, Rutgers (NJ); the New York Public Library; the Mazza Museum, University of Findlay (Ohio); and the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art (MA).
She has created three children’s apps: Roxie’s a-MAZE-ing Vacation Adventure, an animated interactive maze with a search-and-find game; Roxie’s Doors, a 3-D animated interactive app based on her award-winning book, Doors; and Roxie’s Puzzle Adventure, a 16-screen jigsaw puzzle. Roxie studied at the University of Maryland, the Maryland Institute College of Art (Baltimore), received a BFA from the University of Hawaii, attended graduate school at Ohio University, and was awarded a Yaddo Fellowship. She lectures in museums, schools, and conferences. Roxie works in a sky-lighted loft studio in Long Island City, New York, just across the East River from her home in mid-Manhattan. She is married to the Swedish writer/photographer, Bo Zaunders.
